By default, an iPhone is configured to visit to sleep after having a certain time period of inactivity. However, whilst the phone conserves its life cycle of battery when it's sleeping, there might be circumstances when you'd like to completely shut down the iPhone.
Turning your phone off is particularly helpful if your battery is critically low and you know you may need your phone later. Another reason to seal a phone off is that if it's performing strangely; rebooting is usually a fix, much like computer issues.
Shutting down an iPhone can be another foolproof strategy to disable all alerts and call calls.

How to Turn off Your iPhone
No matter your purpose in doing it, here are the steps for shutting off an iPhone. This technique is applicable to every iPhone model, through the original towards the latest version.
Hold along the sleep/wake button a couple of seconds, soon you see a message display on the screen. This button is positioned at the top right-hand corner in the phone (it's either with top or the side according to your version from the iPhone).
A power button look, and focus slide to power off. Move the slider all the method to the right to close off the product.
A progress wheel can look in the center on the screen. The iPhone will shut down a few seconds later.
Note: If you wait long to slide the button over, your phone will cancel the shutdown automatically. If you want to cancel it yourself, tap Cancel.
The Hard Reset Option
There are a few instances where the steps above just won't work, particularly when your iPhone is locked up. In that case, try a technique termed as a hard reset.
This should basically be used when other attempts failed, but sometimes it is simply what you need:
At once, hold down their sleep/wake button plus the home button for around 10 secs or more, till the screen goes black and also the Apple logo appears. Note: The standard home button stopped getting used as in the iPhone 7, so you have to instead hold about the volume down button.
When the truth is the logo, stop holding both buttons and let the device start up normally.
Important: The hard reset feature isn't the same thing as restoring your phone to its factory default settings. The word "restore" is oftentimes called "reset" but has nothing to try and do with restarting your phone.
Turning the Phone on Again
When you're ready use it again, here's the way to boot within the iPhone:
Hold around the sleep/wake button till the Apple icon appears on screen, you may let go.
There are not any other buttons you have to press. Just wait for the product to start-up from this point.
